On Tuesday October 30, Acharya Richard John will be offering an opportunity to take the Refuge Vow at the Madison Shambhala Center.

The Refuge Vow is the traditional step of formally becoming a Buddhist by taking "refuge" in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha.

For those considering taking the vow, this class is strongly recommended.  In it, we will look at the meaning of thes vow commitments, and of the world view they represent. The teachings will be from the perspective of what it means to be a  Buddhist -- as we enter the stream of dharma, how do we integrate the teachings of the Buddha into our life in a meaningful way?

Students unable to come in person can contact us about attending the preparatory class via Zoom or receiving a class recording.  You can email the Center at [email protected]

Please note that the fee includes a $45 materials fee.
