Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Healing: a free practice and presentation

with Clare Norelle

December 17th

Date details +
    Room: Shrine Hall
This free evening will combine a chance to learn about and explore a gentle Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga practice (from 5:15 to 6:15 pm), with an hour-long presentation on complex trauma and healing (from 6:30 to 7:30 pm).

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an adjunct therapy for complex or relational trauma, which allows you to move your body at your own pace and on your own terms, using yoga forms.  TCTSY was developed at the Trauma Center of Brookline, MA, by David Emerson, author of Overcoming Trauma through Yoga, along with colleagues and people living with complex trauma.  It is gentle and adaptable to a variety of needs, with no corrections, and you don't need to have any yoga experience to do it.

Clare Norelle is an experienced yoga teacher and TCTSY facilitator who offers educational presentations on complex  trauma and healing, and group and individual sessions of TCTSY.  She works under the auspices of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (formerly the Trauma Center), and her work is included in the Comprehensive Community Services program of Dane County.
