Joy in Everyday Life will explore the Shambhala teachings on cheerfulness and compassion. Through study and practice of these teachings on discipline and the traditional Buddhist teachings of the Mahayana, we step out of the trap of our habitual patterns, free ourselves from confusion, and cultivate the noble heart of compassion. This class provides an introduction to the Buddhist concept of bodhicitta and the path of the bodhisattva.

This class is the third in the five class series that makes up the Way of  Shambhala curriculum.   It follows Contentment in Everyday Life, and provides material supportive to levels 3 and 4 of Shambhala Training. Class readings will come from "The Places that Scare You" by Pema Chodron, "Ruling Your World" by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and "Shambhala, The Sacred Path of the Warrior" by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

Pre-requisite: Have already received meditation instruction at a Shambhala Center. Completion of Meditation in Everyday Life or Contentment in Everyday Life strongly encouraged.

We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what works for you, and offer as much of the program fee as you can. For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price." Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
