Shambhala Training is a secular meditation training that develops fearlessness, confidence, openness and gentleness towards ourselves and our world.

In this workshop we will explore how human beings have an inherent capacity for wakefulness and intelligence which can be cultivated and strengthened through meditation and reflection.  The workshop will include instruction in sitting and walking meditation, group discussions and talks by senior teacher Mark Blumenfeld.

This program is offered free, but donations are welcome. Please use the link below to register.

Shambhala Training is a series of contemplative workshops, suited for both beginning and experienced meditators. The simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness is the basis of a secular path of meditation, which can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life. Shambhala Training is the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship, the tradition of human bravery and leadership. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life into our modern society as opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action.

Mark Blumenfeld began studying mindfulness in 1979.  In 1990, Mark became an authorized mindfulness instructor for Shambhala.   He has taught programs in meditation, mindfulness, and Buddhism for over twenty-five years and has led mindfulness retreats ranging from a weekend to month long intensives here and at regional retreat centers around the United States.  He is recently retired from the Board of Shambhala International.
